I don't like hot coffee. Or any other hot beverages for that matter. Up until recently, if I wanted to get my iced coffee fix, I had to buy a small beverage for 2.50. I'm cheap. I love to save my money, and I tend to justify the $3 I'll spend on a new succulent baby with the dollars saved by skipping coffee. So when my mom introduced me to her cold brew coffee recipe, well, I was hooked. It's crazy simple and takes such little effort. It's perfect for the college student with out a coffee machine, as it just requires a fridge for storage. And it's just plain yummy.
Enjoy!
1/3 cup coffee grounds
1 1/2 cup filtered water
Coffee filter
Let the grounds soak in water for 12-24 hours on counter
Strain through coffee filter
Pour into jar and store in fridge
and that's it
and that's it
For the coffee milk-
Fill cup 1/3 way with coffee concentrate
Add a teaspoon or so of sugar
Drop in some ice
Fill rest of cup with milk (whole milk is best)
For iced coffee-
Same steps as the coffee milk, but the quantities are different:
1/2 concentrate
Sugar to taste & ice
And the rest with milk
For iced coffee-
Same steps as the coffee milk, but the quantities are different:
1/2 concentrate
Sugar to taste & ice
And the rest with milk
the concentrate has to be diluted (it'd be pretty strong other wise!) and stores for about a week in the fridge. Enjoy!
